"I have sometimes dreamt that when the Day of Judgment

dawns-the Almighty will turn to Peter and will say when he sees us coming with

our books under our arms, 'Look, these need no reward. We have nothing to give

them here. They have loved reading.'" -Virginia Woolf

July Book

Hello all! This month we will be reading the book: Nothing But the Truth by AVI.
Our discussion will be on Thursday, Aug. 4th at 8pm at Kaylene's home. Don't knock. Just walk in because if she has to get up to answer the door she won't give you a treat. Her words, not mine. And that's nothing but the truth! (wink, wink)

June Book

Okay...so June kind of got away from me. Kaylene called today to double check the date for book club and I realized I hadn't posted it on here. Sorry! We are meeting next Thursday, July 7th at Sandy's house. We will be discussing Left To Tell by Immaculee Ilibagiza. See you soon!

January Book

Thanks, Sandy for a fun evening! And welcome, Kylie, to bookclub. You added much to the discussion and we're glad you're here!

This month we are reading two books. The first is a retelling of a fairytale, Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George.

The second looks like a quick and entertaining read, Gossamer, by Lois Lowry.
Due to Sandy's new "hobby" as the RS President in her ward, we are changing our meeting time to the first Thursday of the month. If this is not good for any of you, please speak up! We can certainly look at other days and other weeks. But as of now (pending approval by Kaylene) we will meet at her home on Thursday, Feb. 3rd.

Also, one last item: As we often love each other's treats and ask for recipes, we've decided to post recipes, from our discussions, on our blog. I'm still working on this, but watch for a recipe link on the right side of the page, soon!

*UPDATE* The link to the recipe blog is on the right, titled "Reading & Recipes".
