So many books, so little time . . .

    
Last week we enjoyed seeing Kylie's new home, a wonderful and sobering discussion about North Korea and other important topics and great food!  Thanks for having us, Kylie.  The day after our discussion I saw an interesting video on MSN - check it out at http://video.ca.msn.com/watch/video/north-korea-exposes-life-in-the-usa/2j1236nb .

Allyson, thank you for having us in your home.  I hope no one loses their firstborn (or second or third . . .) to the workhouse this week.  The yummy cake ball recipe is on the recipe link.  Teressa, I still need your recipes for apple dip, pumpkin bread and donuts.

Feburary

Nancy - hope you are getting through Harry Potter and enjoying the journey.  Have a wonderful trip to Florida and please bring some sunshine and warmth home to those of us freezing here in Utah!  I'm sorry the snow kept some of you away from our discussion about Lincoln . . . hopefully Feburary will have milder weather!  We will meet Thursday February 7th (a change so you can spend Valentine's Day with your Valentines) at Allyson's house.  We will be reading The Limit by Kristen Landon.  See you then . . .

I put everyones name on the schedule but it is not set in stone.  Feel free to switch with others if the month is not good for you.

Thanks for having us last week Kaylene.  Beautiful Christmas decorations, yummy peppermint ice cream and a great conversation about books.  Merry Christmas to everyone . . . may you all have a wonderful holiday filled with family and friends, the Spirit of Christ, good food, warmth, joy and lots of new books under your tree.

We will meet Thursday, January 10th at Kris's house at 8 pm.  We will be discussing Killing Lincoln by Bill O'Reilly & Martin Dugard.  Kris and Nancy have the book on hold at the Hyrum Library, Kris got her hands on another copy and Kaylene has a copy she will pass around as long as she gets it back around the first of January so she can re-read it.  Let Kris know if you are ready for it.

We can do some 2013 planning so come with ideas of books, months you would like to host book club and any scheduling conflicts you know about.

Sandy, we enjoyed visiting at your house this month. Thanks so much!  There is a copy of Silent Tears floating around now so hopefully more of you ladies will get to read it.  Our next get-together will be at Kaylene's house Thursday, December 13th at 8:00 PM.  We are reading The Sins of the Father by Jeffrey Archer.  This is actually the second book in a series called the "Clifton Chronicles" and if you want to read the first book it is Only Time Will Tell.  I hope every one has a great Thanksgiving!  We are so blessed . . .
